Bio:

Dr. Elena Lopez Chan was born in Venezuela, and raised in Miami. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Cantonese. She found her passion for optometry working as a receptionist in a private practice, and ultimately developed the skills necessary to become the lead optometric assistant. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Florida International University.After working in the field for almost eight years, she graduated with her doctorate degree from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. She interned in different settings but found that it was most rewarding providing primary care and educating patients what they need to achieve most comfort for their visual demands. She is dedicated to serving her patients and community, and is constantly looking for new ways to improve her practice by staying up to date on the advances in research.Dr. Chan truly believes that medical care changes when the provider is compassionate, engaged, and actively searching for ways to improve their quality of life.Dr. Chan's office accepts most vision insurance and is a VSP Premier provider.
