Bio:

Dr. George Marchbanks earned his Bachelor of Science from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to routine eyeglass, contact lens and eye health examinations, Dr. Marchbank’s office offers digital retinal photography and imaging using the latest state of the art equipment and technology. He specializes in the care and treatment of many types of eye disease such as keratoconus and glaucoma. Dr. Marchbanks became an eye doctor because he always held a particular fascination for the human eye. “As soon as I graduated from college, I applied to Optometry school. I’ll never forget that first time I wore my Lab coat and went to clinic. I was so proud and knew this was what I was meant to do for my lifetime”. When away from his busy practice, Dr. Marchbanks enjoys fishing, reading Sci-Fi books and studying geology and history – particularly American History, he is an avid collector. He also participates in numerous in silent auctions and supports local fundraisers. Dr. Marchbanks is a VSP Premier provider and accepts most insurance plans.
