Bio:

Dr. Matthew Lyons is therapeutically licensed and a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in the State of Texas. At Open Eyes Vision Center, he provides full-scope primary eye care. Dr. Lyons earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston and his Bachelor of Biology from the University of Texas. As a local alumnus from Berkner Highschool, Dr. Lyons is proud to be a product from the best in Texas education. An active member of his profession, Dr. Lyons currently serves as Vice President of the Northeast Texas Optometric Society and was elected into the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. Other notable achievements include being a Polymathic Honors Scholar at UT, a previous volunteer for the Texas School for the Blind, an Eagle Scout, and a father. When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Lyons enjoys playing bluegrass music, weight training, and spending time with friends, family, and cats. "I can't wait to meet you and help maintain the gift of your sight! Vision is deeply tied to how we interact with the world and I want everyone to be set up for success." Dr. Lyon's office accepts most insurances and is a VSP Premier Provider.
